10 Cool Games on Nintendo Switch
RPGs, multiplayer action, shooters and races – in this collection only the best games of Nintendo and other studios.
1. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
A turn-based strategy game in which rabid rabbits from Ubisoft games fall into the world of Mario. The gameplay is reminiscent of XCOM: characters run from cover to cover, shoot enemies and use different abilities. Outside of combat, you can explore the world, collect coins and solve simple riddles.
The initial stages of the game may seem too easy for those who are familiar with the genre. But they are ideal if you want to introduce the child to the strategies.
2. DOOM
Humanity has found an infinite source of energy. True, in hell. Of course, this ended with thousands of demons seeping into our world. Only the Executioner of Rock can stop them – an ancient warrior who is able to tear monsters with his bare hands.
DOOM is a classic shooter in a new way. No hiding, reloads and anything that interferes with unrestrained action. In the game you need to constantly move and shoot a lot. Demons can be killed even on the way to work thanks to the console’s portable mode.
3. Sonic Mania Plus
Sonic Mania is a compilation of all the best that was in the first games about the blue hedgehog, supplemented with new content. Original levels, the ability to choose Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and other characters, different abilities of the heroes.
The game was highly appreciated by both critics and users – the developers retained the atmosphere of the old parts, but brought a lot of new things.
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
A living classic. Breath of the Wild is a natural evolution of the ideas that were laid down in the series The Legend of Zelda since the first part. A huge open world, dozens of exciting quests and additional tasks – the game always has something to do.
What’s most surprising about Breath of the Wild is the thoughtfulness of its systems. You can make a fire, set fire to a stick and throw it into the field in which enemies are hiding. Grass will begin to burn and cause damage to opponents. Or you can throw a sword to a silly bokoblin during a thunderstorm – he will raise a weapon, and he will be struck by lightning. This interaction of mechanics creates a sense of real freedom.
5. Fortnite
The Battle Royale that took over the world. The gameplay here is classic for the genre: together with 100 more players, you need to look for weapons and equipment, trying to survive in a gradually narrowing game zone.
The main difference between Fortnite is short matches (about 20 minutes) and the possibility of construction. Right in the course of the shootout, you can build whole forts around yourself.
6. Super Mario Odyssey
The last part of the Super Mario series at the moment. At its core, the gameplay is simple: you need to run around the locations, collect coins, inhabit different objects and defeat enemies. The most interesting thing is dozens of different small mechanics that you need to use to solve puzzles.
For example, you can seize control of a frog and jump into a previously inaccessible place. Or get into a bullet and smash the wall that was interfering with the passage. And since this game is developed by Nintendo, then every little thing here is verified to create the maximum amount of fun.
7. Captain Toad
Captain Toad is a spin-off of the Super Mario series, starring Toad, Mario’s friend. He explores small locations made in the form of cubes, solves riddles and searches for treasures.
The game borrowed a lot from the series about Mario: some levels and objects clearly migrated from Super Mario 3D World. Overall, Captain Toad is a small but thoughtful and exciting adventure.
8. Splatoon 2
Splatoon 2 is a one-of-a-kind multiplayer shooter. You don’t have to kill anyone in it , just fill the level with the color of your team. Of course, there is a parameter “health”, but in the game no one dies. When the life points run out, the character is simply teleported to the base.
Thanks to this friendliness, Splatoon 2 can be played by both children and adults. And everyone will have fun: children will enjoy coloring the location, and adults will like to compete.
9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
On switch came an improved version of Mario Kart 8 – the best part of the Nintendo racing series. Inventive levels where you need to fly, swim and jump on ski jumps, chic graphics and characters from the publisher’s games – it’s fun to drive even alone.
But it is better, of course, to gather friends and arrange a competition using the split screen mode.
10. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
An epic RPG in which the player will have to try on the role of a dragonborn – the chosen one who must stop the apocalypse. You need to complete quests, kill dragons and other mythical monsters, participate in political intrigues and explore dungeons.
Skyrim is perhaps the most famous part of The Elder Scrolls franchise. Largely due to the freedom that the game offers. You can go anywhere, do anything and be whoever you want. Whichever path you choose, you are still waiting for amazing adventures.
