How to Play World War Z
Choose the appropriate class, decide on the weapon and do not forget to build a defense.
The action of the cooperative shooter World War Z, which was released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, takes place in the universe of the film and the book “World War Z”. A zombie epidemic is raging in the world, and the survivors are trying to get to the shelters to hide from it
A group of four people will have to defend themselves from the hordes of the living dead. Not only an extensive arsenal of weapons will help them in this, but also various barricades and traps.
Characters of what classes are there in World War Z
There are six classes in the game. Which one you choose can greatly affect the outcome of the mission. In World War Z, there are no such big differences between classes as, for example, in overwatch. But each character boasts unique skills that fit different styles of play.
Gunslinger
The character of this class has access to the most rapid-fire weapons, with which he effectively kills entire crowds of enemies. The shooter is pretty easy to play because he does a lot of damage. Most of his skills amplify guns and optimize ammunition consumption.
Subversive (Hellraiser)
This character is great at wielding explosives. He is equally useful both defensively and offensively. A significant part of his skills increases the damage from bombs and grenade launchers.
Executioner (Slasher)
A great option for lovers of hand-to-hand combat. In addition to the machete, he has a stun gun that temporarily disables the zombies.
He’s one of the weakest characters in the game until you start using skills to increase stamina and melee damage.
Medic
The only healing class in World War Z. He begins the game with a gun, a shot from which restores the allies’ health. He also has a camouflage grenade: throw it and the enemies will no longer see you and your comrades.
Techie (Fixer)
A support class that supplies the Allies with ammunition. Very useful at high levels of difficulty, when every cartridge counts. If it’s important to you that your team is always prepared for combat, then this class is for you.
Exterminator
It copes well with explosive substances, in particular with mines and Molotov cocktails. Many of his abilities do not cause damage immediately, but gradually, so it is worth thinking through the attacks in advance. This is a universal class: it will be useful at any level of complexity and in any composition of fighters.
What weapons are in World War Z
There’s a lot of it in World War Z. It is divided into three types, except for heavy and melee weapons. In some situations, some guns are much more useful than others.
Type 1
It includes the following weapons:
- Mini-21 rifle;
- compact submachine gun Gal 9;
- shotgun M500;
- 1911 Protector pistol;
- Geist 17MP automatic pistol.
Weapons of the first type are available at the very beginning of the mission – which one it is depends on the class chosen. With the help of a submachine gun and a shotgun, it is better to deal with large groups of zombies. And on an ordinary gun, you can install a silencer to kill enemies quietly and not attract unnecessary attention.
Type 2
This includes:
- ARK-103 assault rifle;
- PAC-15 carbine;
- TMP5 submachine gun;
- S890 combat shotgun;
- MK110 sniper rifle;
- compact submachine gun Senjata PDW;
- shortened shotgun S890 Shorty.
These guns can be easily found in the process of passing. They will be a good help in battle, even at high difficulty levels. Particular attention should be paid to the assault rifle and carbine: they cause quite a lot of damage. A combat shotgun and a compact submachine gun are also good options.
Type 3
The most powerful and rare guns include:
- HW416 assault carbine;
- HAMR-17 assault rifle;
- XTAR-95 bullpup assault rifle;
- improved Keris V10 submachine gun;
- taiga-12 assault shotgun;
- Crossbow Repeater X.
Of particular note is the assault carbine, assault rifle and improved submachine gun. With the help of them, dealing with enemies is easiest and fastest.
Heavy weapons
Large concentrations of zombies are best mowed down with this weapon:
- RPG4 rocket launcher;
- revolver Casull 6;
- anti-material rifle BF25;
- Thumper GL grenade launcher;
- multi-shot grenade launcher Hailstorm MGL;
- MAG5 machine gun;
- Chain saw SchreiTech Forrest Warrior;
- Taiga-12 assault rifle.
Melee weapons
This includes only a machete and a shovel. Do not use them as the main weapon – only if you do not play as the executioner. But if you run out of ammunition or need to cut down the enemy unnoticed, then melee weapons will come in handy.
What’s the difference between zombies in World War Z
You can kill an ordinary enemy in World War Z without any problems. A couple of shots to the body or one accurate hit to the head are enough. But the game has special zombies: in order not to die from their clutches, you will have to think strategically.
Swarm
A huge pile of living dead who are able to climb on each other and climb over high obstacles. A swarm can look deadly. But if you put up a reliable defense and use rapid-fire weapons, then everything will be fine with you.
If the horde climbs the wall, then shoot at the zombies that are below. So you throw to the ground those that have almost climbed up. And try to shoot the swarm from afar, before it gets up and swallows you.
Chemist (Hazmat)
Such a zombie wears a bright yellow chemical protection suit. If you shoot him in the torso, a poisonous cloud of gas is formed, which gradually causes damage. Therefore, you need to shoot a chemist in the head. Preferably, when it is far from you.
Bull
A large zombie in a police suit that can accelerate and knock you off your feet. Shoot him in the back or in the visor of the helmet – these are his weak points. Otherwise, you will waste ammunition.
Creeper
Constantly hides in the shadows and attacks at the most unexpected moment. As soon as you see the crawler, immediately shoot at it, otherwise it will definitely cling to one of you with a dead grip.
How to Defend yourself in World War Z
In many tasks, you will have to hold the position, shooting constantly advancing enemies. To survive, you will need to use various traps and turrets.
Barbed wire
If the zombie clings to it, it will not be able to move and may even die.
Turret installation
Stationary machine gun from which you can shoot yourself. It copes well with large groups of enemies, but has blind spots. Therefore, carefully look around and in case of what shoot the zombies running up from the side and behind with your own weapons.
Mortar
From it, you can conduct targeted fire on large concentrations of enemies. It is especially effective if you shoot at narrow passages in which the infected have gathered.
Automatic turret
She discovers and shoots zombies. A very useful thing, but you need to place it in the right places and do not forget to replenish the ammunition.
Electric trap
Temporarily stuns enemies. If you control any passage alone, then such a trap will be extremely useful.
What else is important to remember
- Even though World War Z is a co-op game, you can complete the entire campaign offline. Live players in this case will be replaced by bots. True, they are effective only at low levels of complexity.
- If you’re playing on a console, tap the up arrow to mark a special infected or useful item for your allies.
- In order not to shoot at each other, line up with your partners in a horizontal line. And if you’re in front, bend down.
- Before you move forward, look for supplies on the location. They will come in handy.
- The enemy automatic turret can be hacked so that it does not shoot at you, but at zombies.
